Thyssenkrupp raises its profit forecast for the 2025/2026 financial year
The German conglomerate Thyssenkrupp AG has raised the lower limit of its annual profit forecast. This is stated in the company’s report.
Thyssenkrupp cites positive results from its steelmaking, shipbuilding and materials trading divisions.
Thyssenkrupp now expects an adjusted operating profit of between €600 million and €900 million for the 2025/2026 financial year (ending in September 2026), which is higher than the previous lower limit of €500 million.
“The figures show that our efficiency-improvement measures are working,” said Chief Financial Officer Axel Gammann.
At the end of the third quarter of the current financial year (April–June 2026), the company’s revenue rose by 7.3 per cent year-on-year to €8.8 billion. Positive trends were particularly evident in the Materials Services, Steel Europe and Marine Systems divisions.
Adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) rose to €183 million (€155 million in the same period last year). The conglomerate again notes a significant improvement in performance across the three divisions mentioned.
As noted, Thyssenkrupp Steel Europe is continuing its strategic reorganisation according to plan. A key milestone was the sale of its stake in HKM to Salzgitter AG.
Trial operations at the new No. 4 hot rolling mill in Duisburg (the equipment was restarted in June) have been successfully resumed following damage caused by a fire; construction of a direct reduction plant is also underway at the site.
At the regulatory level, the stricter protective measures for steel products introduced by the EU in July are intensifying efforts to ensure fairer competitive conditions for the European steel industry. At the same time, the company notes that Thyssenkrupp Steel, together with other leading European steel producers, is advocating for a reform of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU-ETS).
It should be recalled that ThyssenKrupp’s shareholders approved the planned spin-off of the materials trading division tk accelis (formerly Thyssenkrupp Materials Services, TKMS) at an extraordinary general meeting on 7 August.
