AISI: US raw steel production in week ending October 3 rises y-o-y
According to American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) statistics, US domestic raw steel production totaled 1.801 million net tons for the week ending October 3, 2026, with a capability utilization rate of 78.3%.
Output decreased by 2.4% compared to the preceding week ending September 26, 2026, which recorded 1.845 million net tons at an 80.5% capability utilization rate. Furthermore, production rose by 4.8% relative to 1.718 million net tons and a 77.0% capability utilization rate during the corresponding week of 2025.
Adjusted year-to-date production through October 3, 2026, reached 71.967 million net tons with a capability utilization rate of 79.0%, up by 5.3% compared to 68.362 million net tons in the same period last year, with a 77.1% capability utilization rate.
