EMSTEEL upgrades rebar mill with new Twin Channel system

Danieli Service successfully completed the replacement of the entire Twin Channel system at the EMSTEEL rebar mill in Abu Dhabi, originally supplied by Danieli in 2006.

Following a joint evaluation of system conditions in 2021, EMSTEEL and Danieli decided on a full replacement of all 30 modules during a single shutdown. The intervention required high-precision alignment (within 0.5 mm over a 90-m length), executed over a tightly coordinated 23-day plan running 24-hour shifts.

The old system was dismantled in three days, with the new modules installed in another three. On September 16, 2025, one day ahead of schedule, the plant rolled its first billet, with full production resumed on September 17.

The project was completed without incidents, underlining the high level of safety and collaboration between EMSTEEL and Danieli Service.
