AISI: US raw steel production in week ending September 26 rises w-o-w, y-o-y
American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) statistics indicated US domestic raw steel production totaled 1.845 million net tons for the week ending September 26, 2026, registering a capability utilization rate of 80.5%.
Output increased by 3.4% compared to the preceding week ending September 19, 2026, which recorded 1.785 million net tons at a 77.9% capability utilization rate. Furthermore, production rose by 3.9% relative to 1.775 million net tons and a 78.4% capability utilization rate during the corresponding week of 2025.
Adjusted year-to-date production through September 26, 2026, reached 70.166 million net tons with a capability utilization rate of 79.1%, representing a 5.3% increase from 66.644 million net tons and a 77.2% capability utilization rate over the same period last year.
