Malaysia reviews AD measures on cold-rolled steel imports from 3 nations
Malaysia currently imposes anti-dumping (AD) duties on cold-rolled steel products originating from China, South Korea, and Vietnam. The products concerned are flat-rolled products of alloy and non-alloy steel with a thickness of 0.20 mm to 2.60 mm and a width of 700 mm to 1,300 mm. However, tin mill black plate and cold-rolled steel sheets for automotive use are excluded.
The current AD duty rates range from 7.42% to 42.08%. The measures were previously extended for five years on October 9, 2021, and are scheduled to expire on October 8, 2026.
The Malaysian authorities are currently conducting a sunset review, as there are concerns that ending the AD duties could lead to the recurrence of dumping and injury to the domestic industry.
The products under review include HS codes 7209.15.00.00, 7209.16.10.00, 7209.16.90.00, 7209.17.10.00, 7209.17.90.00, 7209.18.99.00, 7225.50.10.00, and 7225.50.90.00.
