In 2024, the United States remained the largest sales market for the global steel company ArcelorMittal, although sales in this area decreased by 5% year-on-year to $8.44 billion. This is stated in the financial report of ArcelorMittal.
Brazil retained the second place in steel supplies, where sales fell by 8% y/y – to $7.56 billion, and Germany remained in third place with a 12% y/y drop ($5.76 billion).
Poland managed to move up to fourth place in ArcelorMittal’s sales market ranking, ahead of France. Despite a slight decline in sales of 0.5% y/y ($4.44 billion), Poland outperformed France, where sales decreased by 9% y/y ($4.19 billion).
Amid the overall decline in sales volumes, sales in Italy and the UK grew by 8% y/y to $2.8 billion and by 9% y/y – to $1.46 billion, respectively.
As GMK Center previously reported, in 2024, ArcelorMittal reduced steel production by 0.3% compared to 2023, to 57.9 million tons. Iron ore production in the period increased by 0.9% y/y – to 42.4 million tons. Steel shipments to customers in the period amounted to 54.3 million tonnes (-2.3% y/y), and iron ore (only for AMMC and Liberia) – 26.4 million tonnes (+0% y/y).
